Letter To Heroic Event Attendees

Wanted to thank you so much for your support for the event.  Not a single one of you told me it was a good event… YOU TOLD ME IT WAS LIFE CHANGING! Are you kidding me? I can’t think of an event outside of a spiritual setting that has received this kind of feedback. I know you all are so busy so I just wanted to drop a line and say, “THANK YOU!!!” Also, we’ll be cutting the video up and posting it to the site.  Finally, can I tell you a story? For the last 10 years I’ve asked God to use me and I really hated Real Estate for much of it.  About 2 years ago, I heard a voice that I’ll claim as God telling me, “If you want to be used, you have to be usable.”  To me that meant being excellent at everything where I am without complaint. During this “Heroic” Process I had set some goals for the event – $20,000 raised, great speaker lineup, 300 attendees, start and end on time, etc. After the event, although the feedback was not just good, it was astounding, I was still upset that the turnout was low.  I heard a voice in my head that I’ll also attribute to God and it was 2 things. If you want to be used you don’t get to choose what I use you for.  What is it to you if I loved Pat or David, or whoever (as I love you) so much that I spurred you to action simply so she could be launched into action for something I have planned or someone...

Meet the Speakers: Kene Iloenyosi

Kene Iloenyosi Born in Nigeria, Kene earned a B.Sc. in Botany from the University of Lagos. He will tell you that he’s not sure why he spent all those years in the sciences when his natural strength has always been in connecting and relating with people, and communication. His first business venture after college failed before it got off the ground. His second venture, a landscaping company did better than the first but had to be shut down as it started to grow. Always excited to meet new people and learn new cultures, Kene jumped at the opportunity to work as a missionary in the Southern African nation of Zambia from 1998 to 2001. His work included travel to the Eastern and South African nations of Kenya, South Africa and Swaziland. “It is amazing what you learn about yourself and life when exposed to and immersed in other cultures.” Valuable lessons in human relations, marketing, delegation, and leadership were learned through each of these life phases. With this desire to see and learn about the world ignited, Kene moved to Atlanta in 2001. After an 8-month internship with Equip, a non-profit leadership development organization owned by John C. Maxwell, Kene started his first business in America, Forest & Green Moving, in 2003. “Although the moving industry came with a number of challenges, I treasure the lessons it taught me about marketing, customer relations, accounting and how good the IRS is. The IRS is your friend, regardless of what you think. In 2004, Kene joined his wife to build her company, NeatWorks Inc., into the web strategy company it has...

Heroic Event Challenges Leaders to Grow From Successful to Significant

Duluth, GA, For Immediate Release —  Heroic Event started as a leadership conference to fill the need of leadership growth training in the Metro Atlanta area and has grown into a non-profit event designed to take business owner from seeking success to being significant. “Too many business owners have a ‘lottery’ mentality.  They wait for that someday success to do something for their community or the world,” says Joshua Jarvis, the founder of Heroic Event. “There’s so many things that we can do RIGHT now to change our community and the world if we simply take small actions.“ That’s where the quote, “There’s no such things as Heroes, only Heroic Events.”  Jarvis explains that when you analyze heroes all throughout history, it’s their small decisions to do something that changed the way they are viewed in history. Heroic Event is a unique mashup of motivational leadership training conference, townhall roundtable discussion and a non-profit event.   The event has a goal to raise at least $20,000 and has selected two charities.  First, through a partnership with Cambodia Outreach,  Heroic Event aims to sponsor 8 water wells for 4 villages.  Second,  closer to home, by partnering with Atlanta Mission Organization, Heroic Event aims to feed Atlanta’s homeless for 1 month! All of this would be enough, the full day event is packed full of content, with most speakers also doing a Q and A session immediately after.   Former Randstad CEO Jim Reese, Chief Significance Officer of Network21, RD Saunders,  Real Estate Mogul Marci Fair and Time Magazine’s Cover for ULTRA long distance running, Stan Cottrell are just a few of the...

Meet Our Speakers: Michael Kaupe

Michael Kaupe I live and breathe excellence. My passions began in 2002 when I had a very personal revelation of who I had become. I had already graduated college, began working in the technology field, and my only goal was to make money. I realize this is a goal in any job but a goal is just a goal, not a passion. I found out that passionate people give their best in excess and I wanted to do just that. So I started volunteering and giving my time to help others. This helped define my purpose personally and helped shape my passion professionally. In the years since, I’ve been invited to be on the Board for Sunday to Sunday, which helps link people to others already impacting the world. This incredible mission has helped me realize the gift in giving without the expectation of getting something back. Professionally, this has been profound. It’s about being excellent and doing the job right because the end result is someone’s life. In 2005, I helped start Angela Michael Skincare & Spa. This has helped me gained experience in external/internal communications, policy and process development, with strengths in building and facilitating marketing campaigns, and relationship building. I see how a business can be significant and not just successful. I have learned how I impact our community and our customers. In 2004, I started with Ceridian. I’ve held 2 positions, one in Implementation and my current position as a Solutions Consultant. I believe my role in Implementation helped me understand our customer’s needs and requirements better. It has equipped me to be customer focused...
